THE "GO TO" PLACE FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN SPECIALTY FOOD MARKETING.

I'm working with a co-packer to help develop my product. The only problem is that they don't have pressure cookers (retort?). This process would allow me to market the product without the use of refrigeration. Are there any co-packers you know of who have this equipment? Thanks in advance.

Which geographical area are you looking? In fact I need a facility also with a retort. I live in the SFO bay area.
So if you come accross some one let me know.

Thanks

Try contacting MS. Paul at NASFT. Ask for their CO-packer CD. It can be searched and yu may find one who can do retort in your area.

Good Luck.

Hello Dan and Kris,

I'm new to this group, and am also looking for a copacker in the San Francisco Bay Area. My product does not require retort, but I would welcome any information or useful tips you've learned. I am just getting started with one product, and am also planning on contacting NAFTA as well.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I just joined this group, and am also looking for a co-packer. My cereal doesn't need any cooking - just blending and packing. I live in Marin county - any packers nearby that you can advise me of?

Great to see there are so many enterprising entrepreneurs out there.

I'm in SF also, just starting out; any strategies for finding nearby copackers that work? Any interest in getting together to discuss other start-up issues and progress made?

Let me know.

I know I am late to this discussion, but would love to be part of a Bay Area group. I am also looking for a co-packer in the Bay Area to do organic condiments, pickles, relish, etc.
Coming late to the party!!! Have you gotten together with others? Carli Tippett

Hi Dan, Why is a pressure cooker needed to make your product shelf stable? I pack tons of shelf stable product and a pressure cooker is not equipment on our production line.
