I would like to start trying to market my salad/dressing recipe. But, I have no idea where I could even get started. Where can I start? What should I do? I just started this processing and I was hoping someone could guide me.
Hey me too, but it's not a salad recipe. It's an old family recipe and there is not another one out there. And I to have no idea where to begin, especially on protecting the recipe is where i'd like to start. Have you learned anything?
One place to begin since you link in Washington state is the Washington Department of Agriculture. They can give you some direction about how to start and what needs to be in place. Here is the link: http://agr.wa.gov/FoodAnimal/FoodProcessors/
1. Select your product
2. Test recipes
3. Have a public sampling of none friends and family
4. Assess findings and responses from the public
5. If needed return to the kitchen for recipe adjustments
6. Design a product sample, complete with packaging, label and retest in the market place.
Hi , How are you doing, I live in toronto Canada . I am trying to get my product on the market which is package cakes and pastries. which is difficult, because, I cannot make the product from home. I am trying to outsource the product to be made by local bakeries. or food preparation Companys. and co-packers. but, are finding it very difficult. if any one out there can help us. I would appreacitae some feedback.
First you must get the dressing test at a food lab, they will help will , imgridents, ect. contact companies fro bottles, packaging, ect. labels, ect. you should also write a business plan. this will help with the frame work for your business. and registere the business. at your local business centre
